The time gone by...

Am riding high on the wave of nostalgia.Too nostalgic about the times gone by.Pondering about how our lives have changed in the past years, I realized we have left so many things behind...

No more of waking up to Vande Mataram or Saare Jahaan se Accha on Doordarshan.News is no more at fixed times only, its available where you like it.T.V. isnt about Jabaan Sambhal ke,Superhit muquabla or Humlog anymore.

Gone are the days when going out was going to the park with family.Having sukha bhel was a treat. An occasional Pepsi or Goldspot was a thing to brag about.Going to cinema or circus was a big deal.

We have lost the romance in waiting for a long distance call and a letter reply. The romance in making and writing one...

The time when we actually knew our neighbors. The time when socialising was not done on facebook or twitter.it was face to face. When friendship did not begin with a friend request..

The time when a kid could be lured back to the house just by a "Jalebi"...

The time when Rs.10 actually had a lot of value.

The time when spotting cars on road (even the Indian ones) was news for the next gathering of friends and family...

When songs actually made sense. The videos did not embarrass us in front of parents...

Long distance travelling was done by trains. The time when we used to fight of our favourite berths...

The time when we did not know the word terrorist. When we did not doubt the next person of being one...

Life was pretty slow back then as compared to today. But now when i come to think of it,it held so much more value then.We have so easily adapted to the changes as its easy to.But we have lost that personal touch that we had back then...

I am not an advocate of sticking to old things.I believe change is constant.I just wish we take out some time to do the things we used to...Things we still can before they become hazy in our memory too..

Lets take out sometime to..
be human again!!!!
bring back our humane qualities again!!
make true friendships again!!!
laugh a real "laugh" again!!

  12. There was content in life. Now there is greed. We are never happy how much ever we earn.

Life had life. Now, life has motion.

    Beautifully written. Keep it coming.

  16. Doordarshan would be the perfect metaphor for the time gone by. We all share the exact same regret in life! Sigh... Good 'ol times!
