I wish..
I wish, i could be a kid again,
put all my worries down the drain,
Living life kid style,
No reason to walk the extra mile!!
Was waking up early the only pain,
What have we achieved growing up sane?
Lets exchange frowns for teacher's cane,
It was a blissful boon, not bane!
Messy frocks to branded shoes
Now, i would the latter choose,
Then, a new compass brought a smile
Smile, we look for in expensive lifestyles!
When "now" weighs down,
"Then" rescues like a clown,
When present seems insane,
I wish i could be a kid again!
Everyone feels to be a kid again. But it stay just that thought at the end of the Day.
ReplyDeletei have this theory...human beings never grow up...their brains are programmed to believe that they should behave a particular way at a particular age....and so the start imitating that...there a kid hidden within us always...all one needs to do is find it :)
ReplyDeletenice post
Thats a very nice theory SUB.I totally agree with you.We never really grow up, we only learn to act in public!
ReplyDeleteVenkateswaran Ramachandran : Read Sub's comment, i kind of agree with him.It stays a thought cause we don't seek the kid inside us enough!
ReplyDeleteluvd it....!! upasana...u said it rite ...we never really grow up... who knows this better than u and me and our madness, which still prevails...!! :p
ReplyDeleteHey thats a nice one! I have a post on similar lines... "Can I live it once more" - http://ashsonline.blogspot.com/2010/10/can-i-live-it-once-more-gone-are-those.html

ReplyDeleteThank you mehal !
ReplyDeleteGreat words,very nice blog.
ReplyDeleteSociety doesn't wants us to be kids.
ReplyDeleteParents ask us to grow up, gf/bf bug us asking to be more "mature".. Entertainment industry has some kind of propaganda going on wanting everyone to be adults.
Interestingly enough, the scientists crowd stay as kid-like as they can. Coz in Science the saying goes, Think like a kid, act on it like an adult.
I had goose bumps as I read your poem. I could actually feel EVERY single word in it!!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL! I liked the way you have rhymed. :)
ah gawd! i keep a little kid in my heart all the time and avoid being sane :) but i miss the crazy things kids are allowed to do....sigh....i have some bones to pick with the *time* and the man working on *time machine*
ReplyDeleteIn a child it is the heart which enables actions with innocence. A nice poem.
ReplyDeletewhat have we achieved growing up sane? indeed! what have we achieved?
ReplyDeletelovely poem. truly wish we could set the child in us free

ReplyDelete:(
The irony in life is that we want to grow up as fast as we can when we were kids and want to become kids again when we are adults...but its always so nice to remember the old times in our hectic adult life....very well written...anurag
